Barnett BARNETT CLUTCH KIT

Barnett clutch kits are designed to tolerate whatever you can deliver with their top quality construction and components. Barnett has been developing their burly clutch kits since 1948 for dirt bikes, street bikes, and ATVs. The Barnett clutch kits are built with Kevlar fiber plates. Kevlar is the same material found in bullet proof vests, which make these clutch kits extremely tough. Barnett clutch kits also include durable tempered steel friction plates that have been processed through their vibratory deburring followed by flatness testing to ensure optimum performance. The heavy duty clutch springs have also been produced for durability by using shot-peened processing and heat treating. Expect better clutch feel, performance and abuse control when you install the Barnett clutch kit in your application. Note: not all street bike kits will include fiber plates, friction plates and heavy duty springs.

Good Clutch
February 8, 2012
"The clutch went in easily. The only issue I had was the springs were a little too stiff to get the clutch to slip at all which with a 2 stroke can be a problem. So far I would have no problems buying another one."

EXCELLENT CLUTCH
September 23, 2011
"I love the feel of my new clutch. Nice positive and smooth engagement. The slightly beefier springs also
help since I dont like a soft clutch.

"Just spend your money on oem clutch kits or hinson clutches. My stock clutch slipped less with a little over 55 hours on it than this clutch did in 10."

"I got this clutch just because i had to replace my gasket since the side of the engine was already open i just thought of putting a few preformance parts into it. Don't listen to the people who say it seazed up or whatever. they need to soak it in oil for at minimum of 5 minutes!"

"It installed nicely. I put it on my 06CRF450R when my last clutch failed. The new springs made a huge difference. We'll see how it holds up to the dunes this summer!"

I would think twice...
January 21, 2010
"about getting Barnett dirt digger clutch again. I have an 03 Z400, I installed the clutch pior to going to Glamis and it burned up with in an hour of being there...that was less then an hour of total ride time on the clutch but he bike was performing GREAT while it lasted! LOL...long story short, Barnett replaced the clutch due to premature failure."

low quality

"this cluch will work fine for a low power appication like trail rideing. however I race and I find that the clutch slips horribly even with heavy duty springs and a hinson basket and hinson pressure plate."

design.............
December 13, 2009
"The fiber plate design has deeper gaps between the contact surfaces allowing more fluid in clutch pack. This causes the clutch to run cooler resulting in higher friction(less slip). Works well with my Recluse clutch system."

for the KX450... BUY OEM!!
November 8, 2009
"I had over 70 hard hours on my factory KX450F clutch before it started slipping in a moto. up until it started slipping it was the best clutch I ever had. the pull was light as a feather and the clutch NEVER went out of adjustment during a moto.
well... when I felt it slipping in moto 1 I didnt want to chance my 2nd moto. we threw in the Barnett clutch kit (springs, plates, discs). It was installed professionally following the insructions to soak the plates in oil for at least 15 minutes before installing the plates.
my next moto the clutch started off good. but within 2 laps the thing had heated up and my lever was letting out all the way at the end. I had to adjust it during the race 3 times (quick adjust while in the air) I figured maybe it was just new.
next race was Southwick MA. and the clutch was even worse than the 1st time. it went out of adjustment constantly. it was slipping by the 3rd lap.
I NEVER had a problem with the OEM clutch and will never buy anything but OEM again. I could have spent more money on OEM but I would have gotten 70 more perfect hours out of the clutch.
